Walk with One
We ask all parishioners to join us a we begin the program to Walk with One. This program originated through the Eucharistic Revival and all Catholics in the United States are asked to take this simple approach to bring people to God.
- 2025 is also the national year of Going on Mission, issued by the U.S. Bishops. A plenary indulgence may be attained by studying the Walk With One initiative, completing the free Evangelization 101 video series in groups in a church or other suitable place (these may be determined and announced by the Archbishop or within a parish by the Pastor), and. asking God whom he wants you to accompany by interceding, connecting and inviting them home to the Church, as well as also fulfilling the general conditions of receiving any indulgence.
- This indulgence is offered by the pope under the wording, “participating in popular missions, spiritual exercises, or formation activities on the documents of the Second Vatican Council and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, held in a church or other suitable place (these may be determined and announced by the Archbishop or within a parish by the Pastor), as well as also fulfilling the general conditions given above.”
Step 1: Identify
Don’t just pick someone. Ask God whom he wants you to accompany on their journey home to the Church. He will point you to the person he has in mind and open doors for the conversations that need to happen.
Step 2: Intercede
As soon as the Lord lays someone on your heart, begin to pray for them! Ask God to remove whatever obstacles are making it difficult for this person to draw closer to Christ and his Church. Pray for the grace to be able to accompany them well.
Step 3: Connect
Look for ways to build a deeper relationship with this person. Get together with them for coffee or lunch. Listen deeply for promptings from the Holy Spirit as you get to know your friend’s joys and struggles. Share with them some of your own.
Step 4: Invite
Follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit. When the time is right, invite your friend to take a concrete next step in fostering a personal relationship with Jesus and the Church. This might mean joining you for a small group or Mass on Sunday.
